Pioneering mRNA manufacturing
The facility is the first BioNTech manufacturing site with the capability to manufacture mRNA-based individualized cancer vaccines on a commercial scale.
Individualized cancer therapies based on mRNA
Up to 10,000 mRNA-based cancer therapies can be produced annually at the new site. The investigative therapies are currently being evaluated in clinical studies with patients with colorectal, pancreatic, and skin cancer. If approved by the authorities, production can also be carried out on a commercial scale.

The new facility will support clinical production and in turn, increase capacity for clinical trials.
