About the role:
As Manager Data Platform Technical Data Governance Architect, you will be at the forefront of ensuring BioNTech’s enterprise data platform operates as a trusted source of reusable, governed data products. Combining expertise in data engineering, architecture, and governance, you will lead the technical implementation of data governance principles—enabling metadata management, lineage tracking, and data quality across platforms like Informatica and Reltio. Your work will empower business users to create scalable, fit-for-purpose data products that drive innovation and operational excellence.
Your contribution:
- Own and govern the technical landscape for data governance tools like Informatica, Reltio, and Accurids
- Design scalable solutions for data integration using catalogs to meet reliability, security, and performance standards
- Enable governed data products by translating business requirements into technical designs and reusable models
- Lead technical capabilities for metadata management, lineage tracking, logical/physical modeling, and addressing data-quality issues
- Drive adoption through user enablement programs including training, templates, and best practices for governance workflows
- Provide leadership across internal teams and external partners to ensure quality assurance in deliverables
A good match:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related fields—or equivalent professional experience
- Extensive hands-on expertise with Informatica’s integration and governance capabilities (e.g., metadata management or lineage tracking)
- Strong knowledge of master data management platforms like Reltio or comparable systems (e.g., hierarchy management or stewardship workflows)
- Advanced understanding of ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS/Azure), relational databases (SQL), non-relational databases (NoSQL), and event-driven architectures
- Proven ability to translate business needs into scalable technical designs aligned with governance standards
- Experience in regulated environments such as life sciences or healthcare is preferred
- (Business) fluent English language skills, both oral and written
