FRA (Financial, Reporting & Accounting) Head China, Executive Director

About the Role:
As the FRA Head China, you will be the single point of accountability for all Financial Reporting & Accounting activities across BioNTech’s legal entities in the region. Reporting solidly to the China CFO and functionally to the Global FRA Head, you will lead a team of 10+ professionals while ensuring alignment with both local management and global standards. This executive role offers an exciting opportunity to drive financial integrity, compliance, and operational excellence within a highly regulated biopharma environment. You will play a critical role in supporting BioNTech’s mission by providing accurate financial insights and fostering collaboration with key stakeholders.

Your Contribution:
• Own the closing calendar and ensure timely completion of local month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial reporting activities

• Lead preparation of accurate financial statements and reporting packages for Group and SEC purposes

• Ensure compliance with PRC GAAP, IFRS, tax-related accounting requirements, and statutory obligations

• Oversee governance, risk management, internal controls execution, and SOX/ICFR compliance within the region

• Drive standardization and continuous improvement in finance processes such as R2R (Record-to-Report) and S2P (Source-to-Pay)

• Partner with local management to address accounting risks early in business decisions while supporting new entity setups or restructurings

• Develop talent within your team through succession planning, training programs, and capability-building initiatives

A Good Match:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or CPA certification preferred

• 15+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles within multinational healthcare organizations

• Expertise in PRC GAAP, IFRS compliance, financial controls, audit processes, and SAP systems

• Proven leadership experience managing diverse teams to full potential within a biopharma or biotech setting

• Strong analytical mindset with an ability to navigate complex regulatory environments while driving operational excellence

• Fluent communication skills in English and Mandarin
