What YOU WILL DO
1.As part of the Regional Procurement team responsible for the clinical (80%) and/or associated categories (20%), you'll take ownership for a portfolio of subcategories identifying, leading and managing projects across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle to achieve the targets and deliver the outcomes.
2.Supporting Global and/or Regional Category leads to developing and executing category strategies in collaboration with stakeholders for sub-categories identifying value generation opportunities including supplier optimization/rationalization, cost savings, risk mitigation, innovation, and improved supplier value and performance.
3.Lead cross-functional teams through the end-to-end lifecycle including demand gathering, sourcing, negotiations, contracting and supplier management for clinical category and other associated categories.
4.Conduct all aspects of the regional sourcing and contractual/commercial negotiations with suppliers resulting in favorable terms in accordance with BioNTech standards.
5.Foster healthy relationships with strategic and key suppliers to ensure value, performance and management in all aspects of the supplier lifecycle including identification of target vendor landscapes, establishment of supplier standards and governance, strategic supplier partnerships and management of full life cycle of suppliers.
6.Developing and managing category strategies independently with an expert understanding of procurement and sourcing, identifying and driving opportunities to optimize the supplier landscape, value and cost.
7.Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with strategic suppliers to optimize total cost of ownership, encourage innovation, achieve performance levels, and manage risk.
8.Excellent negotiation and contracting skills, a record of accomplishment in structuring vendor arrangements across a variety of vendors and varied contracting experience
9.Managing several projects simultaneously, working to agreed timelines, and clearly communicating progress and milestones to stakeholders across the projects on a timely basis.
10.High-level of intellectual agility, initiative, self-motivation, tenacity, and the ability to negotiate and bring together different audiences Treating all others with respect.
11.Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to analyze procurement data, market trends, and supplier performance to drive informed decisions.
12.Procurement Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement platforms like SAP Ariba, Coupa, or Jaggaer to streamline sourcing and contract management.
13.Risk & Compliance Management: Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, cybersecurity risks, and ethical sourcing best practices.
14.Cross-Cultural Communication: Experience working in an international culture environment, managing diverse teams and suppliers across different geographies.
What You'll Bring
1.Bachelor’s degree or above in Chemicals, BioPharma, Business Administration, or related fields; Professional certificates (CIPS/CPSM) preferred. MBA a plus.
2.Minimum 6+ years of clinical or associated sourcing experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Additional experience in indirect procurement would be beneficial.
3.Familiar with key categories such as CROs, Central Lab, Depot and SMO.
4.Proficient in international tendering, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling, and Should-Cost analysis.
5.Hands-on experience with procurement and analytics systems such as SAP Ariba, S/4 HANA, Coupa, and Power BI.
6.Fluent in English, capable of conducting international business negotiations.
