Scientist - (RNA) Mass Spectrometry

The Analytical Development department in Munich-Martinsried is looking for an experienced Scientist to support the development of mass spectrometry assays for RNA and LNP characterization at the research and development level.
Your main responsibilities:
- Optimize existing and develop new targeted and untargeted mass spectrometry assays for quantification and characterization of small molecules, lipids, nucleotides, and mRNA
- Develop and implement one- and two-dimensional LC-HRMS workflows for comprehensive structural characterization of different modalities
- Train and mentor team members in best practices for sample preparation, instrument operation and data analysis
- Characterize the performance of novel assays and document the results in development reports and patent applications in accordance with internal quality standards and regulatory expectations
- Maintain and troubleshoot LC-MS systems
What you have to offer:
- Degree (Master or Ph.D.) in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related discipline
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in LC-MS method development and maintenance, including 2+ years with high-resolution MS
- Expert knowledge in HRMS data acquisition and software-assisted analysis of RNA, oligonucleotides and small molecules
- Willingness to perform wet-lab work on a regular basis
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in German is desirable
