Research Specialist MAP Protein Expression & Purification (limited 1 year))

About the Role: 


At our Munich site (Neuried), you will be part of the Antibody Discovery Platform, contributing to diverse projects and workflows for protein production. As a member of the “Protein Expression & Purification” team, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards in recombinant protein production, directly supporting the antibody discovery process.

 

Please note: This position is limited to a fixed term of 1 year and cannot be extended beyond this period.

 

Your Contribution: 

 

  • Ensure high quality in cell culture processes by preparing master and working stocks of expression cell lines, including quality control
  •  Cultivate and expand expression cell lines under sterile conditions; perform transfection and harvest cell supernatants
  • Purify therapeutic proteins, including high-throughput processes
  • Operate liquid handling robots and semi-automated devices integrated with a customized Laboratory Management System (LIMS) for sample handling
  • Independently perform and analyze experiments, document data, and present results to the research team
  • Take responsibility for lab infrastructure and general laboratory tasks (e.g., routine endotoxin testing, buffer preparation)


A Good Match:

 

  • Completed apprenticeship as a technical assistant (BTA, CTA, MTA) with professional experience or a scientific degree (BSc/Master) in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology, or related sciences; industry experience is a plus
  • Strong scientific background in protein biochemistry
  • Experience with high-throughput processes and liquid handling robotic systems (is a plus)
  • Good English language skills
