About the Role:


As BioNTech expands its innovative modular mRNA manufacturing approach to Melbourne, you will play a pivotal role as a Site Security Specialist in ensuring the safety and integrity of our operations. Joining our Global Security and Protection Team, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding employees, assets, and processes in alignment with BioNTech’s high-security standards. You’ll collaborate closely with the Regional Security Manager and central security team, becoming the primary contact for all security-related matters at your designated sites while contributing to a secure environment that supports groundbreaking mRNA research and clinical trials.

 

Your Contribution:

 

  • Implement BioNTech Global Security standards in collaboration with global security and site leadership teams
  • Oversee daily security operations, including access control, CCTV monitoring, patrolling, and incident management
  • Manage third-party security services to ensure performance meets established KPIs
  • Regulate site access for staff, visitors, and deliveries; maintain accurate logs and enforce access restrictions
  • Monitor security systems from reception consoles; respond to alarms or suspicious activity in coordination with relevant teams
  • Deliver security training aligned with local regulations and BioNTech’s expectations
  • Act as the first point of contact for security inquiries at the front desk while coordinating with internal departments and external service providers
  • Prepare detailed reports on daily activities, incidents, monthly performance metrics, and participate in global security meetings
  • Assist in emergency planning committee tasks such as evacuations or lockdowns while providing clear instructions during emergencies


A Good Match:

 

  • Certificate IV in Security Management
  • 3–5 years of sector-specific experience
  • Victorian Private Security License holder
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Familiarity with relevant security regulations and advanced technologies like access control systems, CCTV monitoring platforms, or terminal security systems
  • Strong communication skills paired with leadership capabilities
  • High conscientiousness for documentation accuracy and workstation organization
  • Willingness to work flexible hours occasionally
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
