This crucial role will lead negotiations and execution of strategic collaborations initially in clinical, AI, and manufacturing sectors in Australia and beyond. The Senior Director will be instrumental in leveraging governmental relationships and investments to de-risk and bolster these partnerships, driving forward BioNTech's mission of innovation and healthcare advancement.

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Partnership Negotiation: Lead strategic planning and negotiation of pivotal clinical, AI, and manufacturing partnerships, aligning with BioNTech's objectives while fostering collaborative relationships.
  • Governmental Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with governmental bodies, navigating regulatory landscapes, and leveraging governmental investment mechanisms to support and de-risk partnership initiatives.
  • Implementation and Oversight: Oversee the execution of partnership agreements, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure seamless integration and effective project management with the broader global teams in BioNTech.
  • Risk Mitigation Strategy: Collaborate with government entities and stakeholders to identify potential risks and develop comprehensive strategies to mitigate them effectively.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure partnerships align with BioNTech's long-term goals and scientific advancements, contributing significantly to the company's growth and strategic vision.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Provide leadership to a dedicated team, fostering an environment of collaboration and innovation while effectively managing partnership development.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate comprehensive reports on partnership progress, outcomes, and potential areas for improvement, presenting findings to senior management and stakeholders.

 

What you have to offer:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific or medical field (MD preferred with clinical expertise or training in oncology.
  • Experience with clinical trial design, management, and knowledge of local healthcare regulations and codes of conduct for interacting with healthcare professionals and organizations.
  • Minimum 12+ years of industry experience in a similar role such as Medical Science Liaison or Clinical Research Director, or experience in an equivalent role as a healthcare professional.
  • Strong network within the local medical community and academic sites.
  • Project management and effective prioritization in managing multiple competing priorities.
  • In-depth understanding of government mechanisms for deal making and delivery, with proven experience leveraging such investments to de-risk and drive successful partnerships, and of implementing large complex outcome based policy priorities.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with governmental stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a results-oriented mindset, adept at navigating complex government environments and fostering collaborative relationships.
