As Head of Operations, you’ll lead key manufacturing areas and play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality products, on-time release, and seamless collaboration across cross-functional teams.

Your mission: to develop our Marburg site into a center of excellence for late-stage mRNA manufacturing and to sustainably increase productivity and efficiency at our Marburg site by collaborating across the entire value chain.
 

 

Your Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Leadership:

  • Lead and develop teams within mRNA Operations covering multiple technologies. Cultivate a culture of scientific and operational excellence, fostering cross-functional collaboration and innovation

​​​​​​​Operational Excellence & Innovation:

  • Ensure production targets are met in terms of quality, costs, timelines, and output. Plan, steer, and monitor production processes, including resource, capacity, and personnel planning. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, GMP, environmental, and safety requirements throughout production processes. Drive process optimization and streamline material flows to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and shorten lead times. Drive implementation of new technologies & continuous process improvements. User Lead for interdisciplinary projects for new products and process implementations

​​​​​​​Collaboration & Coordination:

  • Encourage and drive cross-functional collaboration to elevate value creation and performance. Take the lead in partnering with quality assurance, technical teams, and other key departments to streamline interfaces and harness synergies. Serve as the ambassador for the Operations department and our company when engaging with external partners, authorities, and stakeholders—embracing accountability and fostering proactive communication to realize our collective objectives

 

 

Your Profile:

 

Technical Expertise:

  • Degree in natural sciences, pharmacy, engineering, process engineering, biotechnology, or a comparable field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with profound expertise in operational management, production processes, and technology. Experience in mRNA manufacturing is preferred

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Extensive experience leading cross-functional teams and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Passion for empowering employees, and fostering professional growth and extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment 

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

  • Exceptional problem-solving orientation with expertise in analyzing and managing complex operational challenges. Experience in deploying creative methods for process optimization.'

​​​​​​​Regulatory & Industry Knowledge:

  • Deep knowledge and experience with GMP requirements, application of quality management tools and Lean Management

​​​​​​​Communication:

  • Fluency in German and English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with external partners, authorities, and internal stakeholders
