In the position as "Senior Director Process Source-to-Pay - GPO" you will be in a strategic leadership role and responsible for designing, governing, and continuously improving the global end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) process within BioNTech. The GPO ensures alignment with business objectives, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence while driving standardization, technical innovation, and efficiency across the process.

This person will also lead a team of Business Process Owners (BPOs) and collaborate with senior stakeholders across finance, supply chain, R&D, and IT, etc. to implement harmonized processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and alignment with organizational goals.

 

Your main responsibilities will be:

 

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the S2P and Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) E2E process to align with the business objectives, standards and overall corporate strategy

  • Responsible for overall E2E process budget, including financial plans, and resources, as well as anticipate future financial needs

  • Drive process budget alignment with respective functions

  • Act as project lead for the E2E process and work closely with the LEAN manager, IT and process project team to implement the E2E process

  • ⁠Establish and maintain a global S2P governance framework, ensuring consistent standards, policies, and procedures across regions and functions

  • ⁠Be part of relevant Leadership Teams and Governance Bodies and act as central point of contact for business, functions and BPOs for dependent processes, whose scenarios include the S2P process

  • ⁠Lead efforts to optimize the process, introducing innovations, and aligning the process with technological advancements (e.g., automation or digital tools)

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance of the S2P process

  • ⁠Ensure that the S2P/P2P process adheres to global and regional regulatory requirements (e.g., SOX, GDPR, industry-specific compliance)

  • Make sure S2P process relevant policies are aligned across functions

 

What you have to offer:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA preferred)

  • 10+ years of experience in procurement, finance, or process excellence roles, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity

  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, cross-functional process improvement initiatives in a global, matrixed environment

  • Certifications such as Lean Six Sigma, PMP, or related process improvement credentials are a plus

  • Familiarity with industry-specific compliance frameworks and reporting standards

  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach to problem-solving

  • Excellent communication skills in German and English, both verbal and written

  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to inspire and align cross-functional teams
