Senior Director* Global Medical Lead 

 

Job Responsibilities

 

The Medical Lead, Global Medical Affairs Oncology is a key role in the Global Medical Affairs Oncology team and works closely with partners internally in the medical team, as well as with other R&D functions such as clinical development, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs, preclinical and translational research, PKPD, publications and program management. 

 

The Medical Lead works within this cross-functional team that is responsible for the development and life cycle management of one of our cancer therapies.

 

The Medical Lead GMA is responsible for:

  • supporting the acceleration of our clinical trials, 
  • advancing scientific knowledge, 
  • communicating scientific data and educating healthcare professionals, 
  • bringing in impactful medical insights and strategic planning, 
  • collaborating with stakeholders
  • to transform cancer care to improve the lives of patients with cancer by driving innovation in the field of immuno-oncology.

 

The Early Pipeline Medical Lead is responsible for working closely with his/her management and other Medical Directors of the Global Medical Affairs Oncology team to build, monitor, track, manage, and assist with the development and implementation of the Global Medical Affairs plans and initiatives:

  • Advanced science degree: MD or PhD, with experience in oncology (required) 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/healthcare industry, or equivalent academic experience with demonstration of successful results 
  • Demonstrated understanding of drug development and experience with phase1 to phase 3 trials 
  • Strong global medical affairs experience, including medical affairs strategic planning and execution of tactical initiatives  (minimum 3 years) 
  • Knowledge and application of business planning & leadership principles, such as goal setting, action plans, monitoring tools, directive and supportive techniques to develop and implement action plans 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with teams, manage a diverse work group, motivate them, and maximize productivity 
  • Creation and oversight of cross-functional and multi-disciplinary teams 
  • Possess budget experience and knowledge 
  • Experience in working in a team in a matrix structure in changing competitive environment, changing product technology, and changing needs 
  • Demonstrated orientation & credibility with internal and external customers 
  • Creation of solid plans and reports for which performance and progress can be measured and evaluated 
  • English – excellent command of spoken and written English (German a plus)
  • High integrity and work ethic 
  • Adaptability and ability to remain focused in the presence of shifting priorities and strategies in timely response to the business climate
