Senior Director* Financial Reporting & Consolidation

The BioNTech Financial Reporting & Accounting team is responsible for the accounting of all relevant business transactions and the preparation of all financial statements and reports. As head of the Reporting & Consolidation team, you will be responsible for the development and expansion of a global reporting function, which includes external accounting-related Group reporting, reporting to the Management Board and Supervisory Board and the sustainability reporting.

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for managing the reporting system, which includes external Group reporting (e.g. SEC reporting) and internal reporting to the Management Board and Supervisory Board

  • Supervision of the international and national subsidiaries, control of the corresponding reporting and responsibility for the consolidation and Group reporting based on this

  • Continuous further development of interfaces, in particular with Controlling, External Communication, Legal and Investor Relations, as well as digitalization and automation of the Reporting & Consolidation department to continuously improve the quality of the enabling function and implement efficiency improvements

  • Establishment and expansion of a global reporting function including the sustainability reporting

  • Contact person for auditors, tax authorities and numerous internal customers within / outside the Finance division

 
What you have to offer:

  • Completed degree in economics

  • Several years of practical professional experience in the financial reporting of a corporate group, preferably several years of professional experience at a "Big Four" auditing firm or in the corresponding consulting environment

  • Comprehensive responsibility in relation to capital market-oriented reporting, ideally SEC reporting 

  • Broad expertise in the areas of group accounting; internal audit experience desirable

  • Broad expertise in the areas of accounting in accordance with IFRS, HGB and, desirable, tax law

  • Confident handling of IT systems in reporting (Lucanet, Workiva) and confident handling of common MS Office programmes

  • Analytical and structured way of working

  • High level of commitment, independence, and flexibility as well as enthusiasm, hands-on mentality and team and communication skills

  • Business fluent in German and English
