Manager* Sustainable Performance & Reporting
You will be part of our growing Sustainable Performance & Reporting team, which is responsible for sustainability reporting and sustainable performance management. With a focus on reporting, you will contribute shaping the future of our new reporting architecture and ensure integrated reporting of financial and sustainability information as well as sustainability performance management at BioNTech.
Your main responsibilities are:
- You will contribute to the interpretation and application of the Corporate Sustainability Directive (CSRD), the implementation of the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) for the BioNTech Group as well as the SEC requirements on climate-related disclosures
- Develop, optimize, and track sustainability performance indicators, targets, and metrics to ensure future-proof sustainable data management and reporting in a dynamic changing reporting landscape
- Collect, manage, and enhance the quality of sustainability data in our global and growing company. Structure and interpret this data to support high-level decision-making and operational steering. Contribute to developing innovative improvements with our internal AI professionals in this field of responsibility
- You will contribute to and manage the annual sustainability reporting formats of BioNTech according to reporting standards and frameworks, e.g., GRI, SASB, IFRS, Greenhouse Gas Protocol, Science-Based Target Initiative, UN Global Compact, Deutscher Corporate Governance Codex including monitoring of relevant changes
- You will prepare information for external stakeholders, e.g., investors or rating agencies with regards to ESG ratings and monitor BioNTech’s performance; reporting management for participation in annual rating questionnaires and their continuous optimization is in your hands
- You will contribute to develop internal policies, guidelines and processes for sustainability reporting in close collaboration with our financial reporting and other departments and provide recommendations for improvement
- Conduct and support internal and external performance reviews. Identify areas for improvement and implement performance management plans and metrics to track progress against sustainability goals.
- You will prepare review processes with regards to BioNTech’s sustainability reporting
What you have to offer.
- Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, sustainability, environmental science, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability or financial (ESG) reporting or related field
- Knowledge of applicable standards and frameworks such as CSRD/ ESRS Standards, GRI, SASB, IFRS, SEC requirements, ESG Ratings & Indices, UN Global Compact, etc.
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize tasks and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and spoken
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with sustainability audits and ratings preferred
