As Manager* Clinical Trial Site Budget and Contracts you will manage, coordinate and oversee investigator contract and budget negotiations; you will develop global investigator budgets, parameters, contract templates and fallback language. You will proactively liaise with study teams, other BioNTech departments and external collaborators to ensure timely delivery and consistent quality of deliverables across the study portfolio in accordance with BioNTech policies, SOPs and fair market value.

 

Your main responsibilities are

 

  • Manage the preparation, review and finalization of global investigator budgets, payment schedules, budget parameters, contract templates and fallback language in collaboration with study teams, Legal department and external CROs and in compliance with relevant processes and regulations
  • Act as Single point of contact for coordinating contract and budget activities and escalations; liaise with study teams, other BioNTech departments, external collaborators and investigator sites to provide solutions
  • Keep oversight of CRO contract and budget metrics and quality, demonstrate initiative to build functioning relationships with our partners; identify trends and issues and report them to study teams and management
  • Keep active oversight of clinical trial budgets throughout the study life cycle, maintain up-to-date and accurate tracking tools, conduct periodic financial reconciliation and ensure timely delivery of reports, metrics and KPI
  • Manage and track the inventory of templates, fallbacks, fully executed clinical trial agreements, budgets, escalations and  exceptions and use it to develop standards across the portfolio and to facilitate and expedite the processes
  • Take an active role in cross-functional teams including Procurement, Legal and Compliance departments in relevant activities, process development and improvement initiatives

 

What you have to offer

 

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in a scientific, financial, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Strong analytical and numerical skills.
  • Minimum of two (2) years in the pharmaceutical or biotech environment, preferably in clinical research
  • Understanding of the clinical drug development process (Phase I-IV)
  • Basic knowledge of industry standards and regulation (e.g., GCP, ICH, FDA)
  • Experience in Investigator Grants preparation would be an asset
  • Ability to handle multiple deliverables with firm deadlines and competing priorities.
  • Ability to review a protocol schedule of events and develop budget grid and payment schedules using software tools
