As Manager Global Compliance Monitoring & Controls in the Compliance & Business Ethics department at our headquarters in Mainz, you will play a crucial role in overseeing compliance monitoring, internal controls, and continuous improvement within the global organization. In this dynamic, international environment, you will be responsible for ensuring that BioNTech’s compliance processes align with applicable regulations, policies, and industry standards. You will conduct ongoing monitoring and reporting of compliance risks, implement both preventive and detective controls, and contribute to the effectiveness of BioNTech's global compliance program.


Your tasks:

 

  • Design, implement, and maintain a global compliance monitoring, control, and continuous improvement framework that aligns with regulatory requirements and best practices
  • Perform regular compliance monitoring reviews and SOX404 controls across departments to identify potential gaps and recommend improvements
  • Provide expert guidance on the design of key controls and remediation of weaknesses or compliance breaches
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to ensure polices und procedures align with applicable regulatory requirements
  • Identify non-compliance issues, document them effectively, and provide actionable recommendations to management for corrective action
  • Prepare detailed reports on compliance monitoring activities and assist in the follow-up of corrective actions to ensure the effective resolution of compliance risks
  • Collaborate with other Compliance team members to standardize policies and procedures across BioNTech and to contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall global compliance program

 
What you have to offer:

 

  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a compliance monitoring, internal control, or internal audit position, preferably within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry
  • University degree in Business Administration, Management, Law or a related field
  • Strong risk perception with a practical, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
  • Proactive and independent work style with a high degree of reliability and integrity
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with the ability to interact diplomatically and build relationships across teams; proficiency in German is an advantage
