About the Role:
The Director Integration Platform is responsible for planning and executing strategies that define how systems, data, and processes are integrated across the organization. The role serves as an organizational authority on integration patterns, technologies, governance, and lifecycle management. You will be partnering closely with Digital Technology Platform sub-departments, Enterprise Architecture, IT GRC (IT Compliance, IT Quality), QA, and key business stakeholders, the Director ensures continuous alignment on security, quality, and regulatory requirements. The goal of this role is to design and operate a modern, scalable Integration Platform (e.g. API Management, iPaaS, ESB, event streaming) that supports complex, enterprise-wide integration needs, while enabling partially to predominantly independent service performance by the teams and maximizing reuse of integration assets.
Your Contribution:
- Define and execute integration & API strategy with MuleSoft
- Set integration principles, standards, and guidelines
- Establish integration governance and change management
- Ensure compliance (GxP, data protection, information security)
- Define and monitor KPIs (usage, performance, reliability, quality)
- Own platform architecture, reference designs and roadmap
- Provide architectural guidance for complex, regulated integrations
- Ensure secure, stable, compliant platform operations
- Manage onboarding of new services (testing, validation, documentation)
- Drive reuse of APIs, connectors, mappings, templates
- Lead and develop the team, enable partial self-service delivery
Plan resources and priorities in line with IT and business goals
Provide targeted training on integration best practices
A Perfect Match:
- Degree in computer science, IT or related field
- 7+ years in enterprise integration / digital platforms, ideally GxP/pharma
- Strong hands-on MuleSoft experience (Anypoint, API-led connectivity)
- Solid AWS knowledge for integration workloads
- Experience integrating MES, LIMS, ERP, shop-floor, IoT/device data
- Strong integration architecture and troubleshooting skills (APIs, events, orchestration)
- Experience with integration governance and lifecycle management
- Proven ownership of integration roadmaps incl. budget and capacity
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and developing talent
- Excellent stakeholder and communication skills
- Fluent in English; German a plus
