We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as Director Global Finance and Transformation. This role will drive financial transformation and cost-optimization initiatives, enabling cost reductions, operational efficiencies, and sustainable value creation.

Your main responsibilities are:

 

  • Transformation & Value Creation Leadership: Lead financial transformation and value-creation efforts and strategic realignment initiatives, focusing on cost optimization, operational efficiency, and sustainable value creation to support BioNTech’s long-term growth objectives
  • High-Impact Cost & Efficiency Programs: Design, manage, and track cost-saving and efficiency programs across areas and functions, with clearly quantified financial targets and rigorous follow-up on delivery
  • Business Case Development: Develop, validate, and oversee business cases across the biotech value chain and enabling functions, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial goals
  • Investment Decisions: Guide strategic investment projects to maximize value creation
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster collaboration among senior stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of transformation initiatives across functions and departments
  • Financial Analysis: Deliver detailed financial analyses and reporting on strategic initiatives, enabling executive leadership to make informed, data-driven decisions
  • Operational Excellence: Identify and execute opportunities for process optimization and automation, leveraging industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies
  • Executive Support: Provide strategic insights and decision support tailored to executive-level priorities and considerations

 

What you have to offer:

 

  • Proven track record of driving transformative cost-optimization programs and high-impact cost-saving initiatives, ideally in Biotech/Pharma or Life Sciences
  • At least 7 years of experience in business transformation, strategic consulting, and/or corporate finance; experience in strategic investment decision-making is highly preferred Several years’ work experience in Finance & Controlling required
  • Prior experience in biotech or pharmaceutical companies is preferred, with a good understanding of the value chain, strategic implications, and operational challenges
  • Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Natural Sciences, or a related field
  • Knowledge of tools and processes essential for implementation phases of transformations, including business case development and validation. Financial modeling expertise is an advantage
  • High analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to deliver impactful results at the executive level
  • Very good communication skills, with demonstrated experience engaging senior management and cross-functional teams effectively
  • Fluency in English is required; German proficiency is a plus
