About the role:
As Associate Director Demand, Portfolio & Financial Services, you will play a key role in driving BioNTech’s Digital Technology Platforms (DTP) department forward. You will own and optimize the demand-to-value chain, ensuring transparent prioritization and alignment of business and technology needs. Your strategic leadership will shape the department's management system for demand intake, portfolio steering, and financial oversight—directly contributing to BioNTech’s mission of advancing medicine.
Your contribution:
- Lead and refine the end-to-end demand management process for DTP platform services
- Strategize and steer project, product, and service portfolios with clear prioritization models
- Drive transparency in budget planning, forecasting, and cost allocation (OPEX/CAPEX)
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements across processes
- Foster collaboration by aligning demands with business domains and cross-functional teams
- Champion continuous improvement in governance models, methods, and standards
A good match:
- Several years of proven expertise (5+ years) in demand management, portfolio structuring, budgeting, and vendor management
- Strong analytical skills to assess feasibility, risks, architectural fit, and compliance relevance
- Advanced technical proficiency in IT financial management tools (e.g., SAP/Ariba or ServiceNow) to drive transparency across costs and investments
- Familiarity with frameworks like ITIL 4 or COBIT is a plus
- Experience integrating FinOps practices for cloud cost optimization is highly desirable
- Strategic thinker with the ability to maintain a holistic view while managing priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- (Business) fluent English language skills, both oral and written
