Associate Director* CMC Project Management 

 

As Associate Director* in the CMC Project Management Team at BioNTech, you will be responsible in a co-leadership/tandem role with the CMC lead for cross-functional teams in a variety of development projects and late phase CMC development projects. You will be responsible for setting up necessary processes and structures to ensure efficient and consistent project management of the respective area according to company vision, mission and goals in close alignment with other CMC functions.


Your main responsibilities are:

  • Planning, coordination, integration, execution, monitoring and closure of complex multidisciplinary CMC projects
  • Integrate program strategy and operational execution across all the functional areas and work packages in delivering the program’s goals and the team’s success (scope, budget, time, quality) in a tandem role with the CMC lead
  • Lead cross-functional teams (internal and external) within complex projects/subprojects and support project work hands-on where required
  • Lead and support the implementation of company-wide new processes and process improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiency
  • Continuously identify, develop and implement department overarching new processes and process improvement initiatives to optimize operational efficiencies

 

What you have to offer.

  • University degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Engineering, Life Sciences or similar field
  • Several (5+) years of experience in managing projects and leading cross-functional teams, preferably with previous working experience in regulated environments (e.g. GCP/GCLP, GMP)
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence without authority, motivate with enthusiasm and develop productive working relationships with key stakeholders – (direct) leadership experience welcome
  • Sound CMC development knowledge in either early or late stage projects with sound understanding of all stages of drug development
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills including excellent English skills, written and orally (German skills are also desirable but not essential)
  • Fast perception of new knowledge and efficient problem-solving skills with high personal commitment within a matrix and fast paced environment
