Associate* Data Privacy Operations 

 

At BioNTech, our Data Privacy Team ensures compliance with data protection regulations, provides information on data protection obligations, advises on projects and acts as a point of contact for customers, patients and employees on all data protection issues. To this end, the Data Privacy Team liaises with almost all internal departments. The team is involved when new software is introduced or clinical studies are conducted.

Main tasks:

- You are curious and want to get to the bottom of things. Your job will focus on the data protection review of new applications and processes and their data protection documentation. You maintain an overview of current and future projects and support the specialist departments with operational data protection issues.

- You are a process improver. As the process owner of our data protection management system, you are responsible for the continuous development of the processing directory. This includes, for example, adding new processes and updating and maintaining existing entries. You see yourself as the interface between the individual departments, as well as the BionTech companies and our Data Privacy Team.

- You want to drive things forward. With regard to our processors, you check which contractual agreements are necessary. You support our Data Privacy team in planning and organizing reviews of our processors together with our IT Security department.

- You are tech-savvy. You have an understanding of data and data usage, storage and deletion through digital technologies. You work closely with other departments, especially IT and IT security.

- You love the exchange. You advise all affected departments on operational data protection issues and questions such as third country transfers, data protection impact assessments and erasure concepts.

- You are communicative. You support training and awareness campaigns, create information material and manage our internal data protection page.

- You can present complex things in an understandable way. You support the management and creation of data protection materials such as our data protection policy, guidelines, FAQs, etc.

 

What you should bring with you:

- You have a degree in law, business law or business informatics or another IT qualification. You also have meaningful additional qualifications such as training or further training or relevant professional experience in data protection law.

- You have very good specialist knowledge in the field of data protection; you are already familiar with the regulations of the GDPR, as well as the current case law in data protection law in the EU.

- Interest and willingness to further develop your knowledge in the field of data protection. More than 3 years of professional experience in data protection law is an advantage.

- Enhanced ethical behaviour with the ability to handle information with confidence and remain impartial.

- You are self-organised and may have previous project experience. You ideally have expertise in information processing and security.

- You are confident using Microsoft Office applications.
