Position Summary
The newly created position of Senior Director, Global Market Access- Oncology GI & GU Antibodies and Antibody Drug Conjugates (ADCs), will lead BioNTech’s global market access and support pricing strategies for our Antibody and ADC platforms both entering and in registrational phase trials across all GI & GU tumor types, including but not limited to Renal, Hepatocellular, Gastric, Pancreatic and Prostate. In this position, you will play a key role in advancing BioNTech’s mission as part of the Global Value, Access, Pricing & Policy (GVAPP) team.
The role will serve as the global market access strategy lead for thoracic indications for BNT327/PM8002, BioNTech’s PD-L1 x VEGF bispecific antibody, as well as ADCs and novel-novel combinations. The Senior Director will oversee a small team of direct reports focused on specific GI & GU tumors, indications, and combinations, while ensuring alignment and optimization of product market access and pricing across indications within alliances and partnerships.
The role will be responsible for defining pricing and access requirements and influencing clinical development, medical, and HEOR evidence generation strategies to deliver robust and compelling value evidence packages to optimize patient access to thoracic indications for our antibody and ADC medicines at prices reflective of their holistic value to patients, caregivers, the healthcare system and society. Additionally, the position will collaborate closely with access policy, pricing, and public affairs teams to develop innovative policy and environment-shaping strategies, ensuring appropriate HTA valuation, access, and reimbursement for thoracic indications for our antibodies and ADCs, including novel-novel combinations, as part of a potentially curative in-house approach to cancer.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of BioNTech’s market access strategies for antibodies, ADCs, and novel-novel combinations across the product lifecycle for GI & GU tumor types, including (but not limited to) Renal, Hepatocellular, Gastric, Pancreatic and Prostate
- Collaborating with Global Pricing Leads, Policy and HEOR colleagues to contribute to integrated Global Value, Access, Pricing & Policy (GVAPP) strategies
- Provide key insights into market access, pricing and policy to cross-functional teams including alliance teams, clinical development, and corporate strategy, ensuring a holistic patient-centric access approach from the outset into the evolving clinical development programs
- Review commercialization strategies and identify opportunities from an access, pricing and policy perspective and run Global Market Access research projects and lead value and access assessments to inform financial forecasting, business development, and strategy development
- Develop and lead fully integrated access strategies by aligning market access, pricing, HEOR, evidence planning, payer value communication, and stakeholder management plans
- Develop payer value propositions and supporting resources that reflect the holistic value of BioNTech’s innovations and enable early evidence and stakeholder engagement planning
- Partner with Pricing Leads, Regulatory, and Commercial to optimize indication and geographic launch sequencing optimization plans by conducting comprehensive market access landscape assessments, early scientific advisory meetings, and development of reimbursement strategies
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; with a minimum of 12 plus years of experience in global market access and pricing within pharmaceutical/biotech companies and/or consulting, with proven launch experience and a track record of developing and executing successful integrated access strategies
- post-graduate degree preferred in a relevant field such as (Health) Economics, Health Policy, Health Systems, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, or an MBA
- Extensive experience in creating global market access strategies that optimize patient access to immuno-oncology medicines (e.g., PD-(L)1 therapies) at prices reflective of their holistic value, including life-cycle management across multiple indications and combinations
- Deep knowledge of global pricing, health technology assessment (HTA), clinical development, payer organization methods and processes, with experience in how to successfully navigate complex systems worldwide
- Established network of relationships with key stakeholders and organizations that influence value assessment and reimbursement decisions
- Experience engaging HTA and payer organizations in early scientific advice to inform clinical development strategies and trial designs
- In addition to extensive global market access and pricing expertise, regional and/or country-level experience is preferred, including knowledge of new EU HTA centralization methods and processes
- Demonstrated experience in building and enhancing market access and pricing strategy capabilities
Preferred requirements: MBA, post-graduate degree preferred in a relevant field such as (Health) Economics, Health Policy, Health Systems, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, Biotechnology. proficiency in a second language.
US based candidates expected Pay Range: $198,900 to $318,300/year + benefits, annual bonus & equity (bonus and equity is variable and dependent on company and individual performance). *Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
