Business Developer

We are looking for a highly motivated, outgoing and communicative individual, who will develop sales of our well-established laboratory reagent products line dedicated to life-science research (universities, institutes, CROs, biotech, pharmas).
As Business Developer you will be responsible for visiting establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales of a mature catalog. You will offer as well as develop custom projects to an established customer base as well as expand this base into academic and industry (biotech and pharma) interests.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

  • Increase revenue in specific territory (UK, Northern Ireland) by visiting establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales
  • Organize and attend trade shows throughout the year, follow-up of open opportunities
  • Organize technical workshops, ensure technical and business presentations
  • Ensure close and personalized contact with leads and clients both on site and virtually
  • Respond to general mailbox inquiries, be available for telephone inquiries during business hours
  • Responsible for data entry in customer database and maintain customer records, using automated systems
  • Collaborate with colleagues in Germany and US to exchange information, such as selling strategies or marketing information

 

What you have to offer:

 

  • Degree (M.Sc. or PhD) in a Laboratory Science (Chemistry/Biological Science/Immunology)
  • Junior / Entrance level welcome, however experience in direct customer contact preferred
  • Ideally 2 + years of direct customer contact experience
  • Travel required, up to 50% field visits
  • Skilled in general database (CRM) management and MS Office
  • Detail oriented and process driven
