Plant Engineer

The Plant Engineer is responsible for planning and executing maintenance of processing equipment in line with approved procedures & schedules, overseeing the operation of processing equipment, resolving processing equipment malfunctions, participating in C&Q activities at site, training and upgrading Operator skills, participating in the move-in, installation, commissioning, and qualification of site utilities while ensuring full compliance with SHE guidelines among other tasks.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Oversee daily operations in Buffer production and fill finish areas maintaining discipline, collaboration and a culture of teamwork.
- Advance a collaborative and growth-oriented work environment filled with continuous professional development.
- Set workstream performance objectives aligned to those of the department, evaluate direct reports’ performance and provide regular feedback with action plans focused on improvement.
- Train and equip operators with the skills required to operate equipment in all areas.
- Oversee the operation of processing equipment in all areas.
- Execute Planned and Emergency Maintenance of processing equipment in line with approved Maintenance Schedules.
- Resolve processing equipment and systems malfunctions/deviations, and lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) sessions aimed at preventing recurrence using scientific tools such as Why-Why analysis, Ishikawa diagrams, Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Pareto analysis, among others.
- Promote the extensive integration of digital applications at the site, including but not limited to COMOS, Beamex CMX, CMMS, eQMS, among others, within business processes.
- Contribute to the asset management strategy by anticipating end-of-life, obsolescence, and replacement requirements.
What you have to offer:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Mechatronics Engineering. A master's degree in any Engineering discipline is considered an added advantage.
- Minimum 6 years of experience in Plant/Maintenance Engineering role in the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Petrochemical or Chemical Manufacturing industry.
- Ability to speak fluent English Language
- Sound engineering knowledge of utility equipment (HVAC, refrigeration, air compressors, WFI plant, steam generators) operations is essential.
- Deep Understanding of Vapor compression Refrigeration and & Vapor Absorption Refrigeration Systems.
- Sound knowledge of cGMP and facility validation for the pharmaceutical industry will be an advantage.
