Manager* Finance/Accounting 

 

The Manager Finance is responsible for ensuring that local Finance related processes run smoothly, especially the Procure-to-Pay process, as well as serving as an interface to headquarter functions. Apart from working closely with the Global Financial Reporting and Accounting function, the Manager Finance will also assist with local needs of other support functions such as Tax, Purchasing, Treasury and BPA (Business Planning and Analysis).

 

Your main responsabilities are: 

  • Close cooperation with Global Finance functions to streamline and improve the local finance processes (especially Procure-to-Pay process as well as Travel Expense process) 
  • Ensures that all costs reported from Rwanda are correct (proper accrual if needed) and are in the right cost centers. 
  • Contact person for questions arising in the context of the preparation of financial statements by Global Financial Accounting and Reporting 
  • Interface between Global Financial Accounting and Reporting and the local site 
  • Supports monthly, quarterly, and year-end reporting including financial statements and notes 
  • Supports and coordinates the service providers for statutory accounts preparation  
  • Contact partner for auditors for statutory accounts and if relevant for group purposes 
  • Reviews local finance transactions 
  • Supports travel expense reimbursements 
  • Ensures that all orders and payments are managed properly and compliant 
  • Supports proper e-banking process in close cooperation with Global Treasury functions to be compliant and transparent with respect to payment transactions 
  • Supports Global Tax and Customs function with local tax filings. 
  • Support liquidity planning and financial status reporting 
  • Supports project from a Finance perspective (e.g. BioNTainer)


What you have to offer: 

  • Accounting degree. CIMA or other qualification desirable 
  • 5+ years related experience including knowledge of local accounting rules (i.e. asset accounting including depreciation), local tax law, P&L cost tracking & reporting as well as excellent finance process understanding 
  • Good SAP skills 
  • Knowledge related to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley-Act) / internal control systems 
  • Familiar with payment processes and cash flow planning 
  • Fluent written and verbal English 
  • Very high process comprehension 
  • High degree of conscientiousness and diligence 
  • Pronounced team & communication skills; Ability to be agile and effectively collaborate in a dynamic, cross-functional environment.  
  • Trustworthy & dependable (making payments on behalf of the organization) 
  • “Finance Allrounder” 
  • Constructive work habits, flexibility, solution orientation, job ownership, quality awareness, and very good planning and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
