Associate* Mechanic 

 

Engineering, Maintenance & Site Operations department is mandated to oversee the execution of local preventive maintenance and repair of manufacturing equipment, clean & black utilities, laboratory equipment and facilities at the mRNA-based vaccine manufacturing site. Also, it handles projects, equipment/systems commissioning & qualification, process automation, and calibration in line with cGxP principles.

 

The Associate Mechanic is responsible for implementing Planned Maintenance programs for process equipment, utilities, and site infrastructure. The person will perform many other tasks including executing installations, breakdown analysis, planning, equipment modification, equipment qualification among other tasks.

 

Your main responsibilities are:

 

  • Carrying out Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of manufacturing equipment, clean & black utilities at site in line with maintenance plans.
  • Identifying and diagnosing mechanical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Performing repairs or collaborating with other maintenance and engineering teams including external Providers for more complex issues.
  • Solving breakdowns in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
  • Carrying out installations, commissioning, and qualification activities at site.
  • Assist in carrying out breakdown analysis and RCA to prevent recurrence.
  • Working closely with other departments, such as process engineering, quality control, and production, to address mechanical issues that impact smooth production.
  • Participate in equipment upgrades and modifications focused to improve efficiency, reliability, and compliance with evolving regulations.
  • Submit daily reports on the status of equipment in area of jurisdiction to the Line Manager.
  • Maintain operation and maintenance logs for all equipment in line with cGMP standards.
  • Attend and actively participate in departmental meetings.
  • Technical report writing.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Line Manager.

 

What you have to offer:

 

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in the maintenance and operation of mechanical systems and equipment in a pharmaceutical industry or FMCG setting.
  • Deep knowledge in Mechanical Concepts, filtration & pressurized systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of GMP requirements, methodologies, concepts, and requirements related to process area.
  • Proven ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety protocols and regulations applicable to mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate records, including equipment history, maintenance logs, and documentation for regulatory compliance.
  • Deep understanding of P&IDs and CAD Draw view.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Excellent computer skills and use of Microsoft office tools.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word.
  • Ability to make critical decisions while following company procedures.
  • Fluent in English Language, written and verbal.
