Associate Electrician

The Associate Electrician is responsible for performing Planned and Emergency Maintenance of equipment at the site, including processing equipment, utilities, the Electrical Energy Supply System, Warehouse equipment, QC Laboratory equipment, building facilities, and site infrastructure. The role also monitors and operates the Electrical Energy Supply System, taking meter readings and conducting energy analysis. Additionally, the role provides support during plant upgrade projects by carrying out different electrical installations using OEM provided blueprints and other duties.

 

Your main responsibilities are:

  • Execute Planned and Emergency Maintenance activities on Electrical Energy Supply System (B400/600/800) equipment in line with Maintenance Plans.
  • Execute Planned and Emergency Maintenance on processing equipment, clean utilities (Compressed Air system, WFI, Clean Steam, Nitrogen system), black utilities (EDTA wastewater treatment plant, B700), QC Laboratory equipment and Warehouse equipment in line with Maintenance Plans.
  • Execute Planned and Emergency Maintenance of building facilities including but not limited to B100/200 HVAC systems, B300/500/700 equipment, elevators, firefighting and security systems in line with Maintenance Plans.
  • Perform high voltage switching and operate the back-up power system in support of operations.
  • Monitor and operate the Electrical Energy Supply System including distribution. 
  • Collect readings from digital energy meters monthly via the digital platforms and perform energy analysis.
  • Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, such as malfunctions, short circuits, or faulty wiring, and implement solutions to resolve problems.
  • Work with instrumentation and control systems, such as sensors, transmitters, and controllers, to ensure proper functioning and integration with electrical systems.  
  • Test and repair fire alarm systems.
  • Carry out overhauls of different types of electrical motors comprising of disassembly, cleaning, replacement of bearings and reassembling. 
  • Carrying out any other duties as assigned by Line Manager.  

 

What you have to offer:

  • Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
  • State Certified Apprentice trained Industrial Electrician.
  • Certified in High Voltage, Medium Voltage switching.
  • Apprenticeship Training in heavy FMCG manufacturing sector, Power Stations, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing, Petrochemical or Chemical production industry.
  • 5 years post apprenticeship training experience in heavy manufacturing sector, power stations, pharmaceutical manufacturing, Petrochemical or Chemical production industry is a must. 
  • MV/LV switch gears, MV/LV motors, 11 KV VCB, VFD’s MOVs, HVAC, overhead crane, battery charger & UPS maintenance experience.  
  • Excellent command of English Language, written and verbal.
