Research Sequencing Intern 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support Gaithersburg research team with an efficient and timely execution of the Next Generation Sequencing workflow (NGS). Learn, perform, troubleshoot different sequencing experiments. These duties include normalization and quality control procedure of libraries, and sequencing with various sequencing platforms.
  • Support technology development projects for the sequencing team.
  • Assist in a general lab organization within the team, and lab inventory.
  • Write SOPs and provide good record keeping in eLN.

 

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor’s, Masters or PhD degree in sciences and experience in a wet lab or next generation sequencing procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

 

Preferred Requirements:

  • Hands on experience with single cell RNA sequencing, Next Generation Sequencing, and automation.
