Material Handling Technician I/II 

 

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Execute safe, compliant on-the-floor warehouse operations in the cGMP commercial facility including receiving, handling, distribution of GMP materials 
  • Preparation of component for manufacturing and final product shipping.
  • Adhere to all GMP requirements; recognize and document deviations. 
  • Lead and/or participate in measures relating to Safety and Quality and adhere to all safety procedures
  • Execute cycle count process to ensure accuracy and control of inventory volumes.
  • Represent warehouse operations in cross functional teams and collaborate to achieve goals.
  • Identify and resolve any irregularities pertaining to materials and transactional activity.  
  • Handle the day-to-day assignments of warehouse job tasks and monitor completion of required activities
  • Receive incoming shipments of non-GMP/GMP materials and equipment following established procedures
  • Pack shipments for transport including into thermal shippers and temperature monitoring devices
  • Prepare shipments including booking transportation, documentation preparation and tendering to a courier/carrier
  • Dispense, prepare and deliver raw materials, samples, finished product, etc. to various departments and facilities as needed ensuring proper procedure and temperature range requirements are followed.
  • Drive company vehicle between local internal and external sites to deliver and collect shipments.
  • Cross-train in all areas of the warehouse and dock operations
  • Ensure individual employee training is up-to-date
  • Keep warehouse areas and equipment are clean and inspection ready
  • May be required to be on an on-call rotation and work overtime or weekend hours. 

 

Requirements:  

  • High school or and Associate degree with 1+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology Materials Management, GMP distribution/warehouse operations. Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 50 lb. of equipment or supplies
  • Squat, bend, kneel, climb, and/or reach for 50% of the day
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to adjust workload based upon changing priorities
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility.
  • Satisfactorily pass a background check
  • Valid driver’s license

 

Preferred Requirements: 

  • IATA Certification and/or past DOT certification  
  • Experience with WMS 
  • GMP, GxP, GDP
  • Cold Chain Management
  • International Shipments
