About the role:
As a System Engineer at BioNTech, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the digitalization of our R&D labs by building, deploying, and maintaining innovative software solutions. Your work will contribute to solving complex challenges in research while leveraging state-of-the-art cloud-based technologies.
You will be part of a dynamic team that collaborates closely with users and stakeholders to ensure efficient processes and alignment with governance standards. Your contribution:
- Apply your expertise in commonly used lab applications such as LIMS, ELN, automation & device software, and data evaluation tools
- Utilize your knowledge of cloud technologies and concepts like High Performance Computing (HPC) or Data Analytics tools such as Data Bricks
- Develop technical concepts addressing business needs while ensuring alignment with governance standards
- Implement technical solutions under guidance from senior team members to meet business requirements
- Manage the operation and lifecycle of applications to ensure functionality and updates
- Configure software solutions based on user requirements for accuracy and optimal functionality
A good match:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 3 plus years of proven experience in similar roles within industries like pharma, operations, IT, or process management
- Strong technical aptitude for identifying optimal solutions for complex challenges
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell
- Solid experience with Cloud Technologies and related concepts including infrastructure as code tools like Terraform
- Excellent communication skills with fluency in English; ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Preferred qualifications:
- Familiarity with High Performance Computing (HPC) environments and Data Bricks is an advantage
- Hands-on experience working in agile environments and methodologies
US based candidates expected Pay Range: $85,700 - 137,100/year + benefits, annual bonus & equity (bonus and equity is variable and dependent on company and individual performance). *Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
