Intern Corporate Development & Strategy

 

Responsibilities: 

 

The Co-Op for Corporate Development and Strategy team at BioNTech US responsibilities will include:

  • Support global corporate strategy efforts including therapeutic area and technology strategies, identification of new growth opportunities, evaluation of build/buy/partner opportunities and other special projects as needed to advance our business.

  • Our goal during the co-op period is to have one or more substantial projects that can be completed during the period and presented to management.

  • Projects during the co-op period may include (but not be limited to):

    • Support our potential partner’s evaluation processes;

    • Build corporate development business cases based on rigorous scientific insights and evidence-based assumptions;

    • Prepare quantitative and qualitative analyses of certain technology areas of interest, identifying pros/cons and making recommendations on a path forward.

  • Closely collaborate with business development, legal, finance, commercial, and R&D teams to support our platform strategy and corporate development activities. It is our objective that the co-op will have the opportunity to network with individuals in various functions throughout the company and learn about how BioNTech operates.

 

Requirements:

  • Availability of 10-12 weeks for the co-op period. Some flexibility exists for start and end dates

  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally across all levels of the organization, including executive management

  • Experience/Interest in opportunity assessments including, when applicable, asset research, valuation modeling, product forecasting, and competitive analysis

  • Good business acumen, judgment, and analytical skills

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Comfortable operating with a strict level of confidentiality

  • Ability to problem solve in a highly matrixed organization

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint

  • Completed biology coursework, with a focus in relevant scientific disciplines
