About the Role:

 

As a Director in Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) at BioNTech, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our value evidence strategies. Your work will directly impact clinical development decisions and support global launches, ensuring that our innovative therapies reach patients worldwide. In this position, you will be part of a dynamic team dedicated to staying at the forefront of HEOR methodologies. You’ll lead initiatives that inform regulatory-grade documents, reimbursement dossiers, and health technology assessments across diverse markets. Your contributions will be key to achieving BioNTech's strategic goals in clinical and commercial success.

 

Your Contribution:

 

  • Develop and execute value evidence generation plans for systematic literature reviews (SLR), network meta-analyses (NMA), cost-effectiveness analyses (CEA), budget impact analyses (BIA), real-world evidence (RWE), and patient-reported outcomes (PROs).
  • Conduct global epidemiology reviews to inform clinical trial site selection and recruitment strategies.
  • Collaborate with medical experts and key opinion leaders through structured settings such as Delphi panels or advisory boards.
  • Advise on FDA Guidance for PRO measures and Patient-Focused Drug Development (PFDD) in clinical programs.
  • Oversee the creation of robust evidence synthesis plans to support global launches and reimbursement dossiers in key HTA and non-HTA markets.
  • Train and support field teams with compliant HEOR tools, including pre-approval dossiers, launch models, and HCEI materials.

 

A Good Match:

 

  • Advanced degree required (MS minimum; PhD/PharmD/MD preferred) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, or related fields.
  • Extensive experience with SLR methodology, NMA/ITC techniques, CEA/BIA models, and RWE research designs across US and international data sources.
  • Proven track record in developing PROs, eCOA implementation, FDA COA meeting requests/briefing books, and negotiating regulatory PRO label claims.
  • Expertise in health technology assessment guidelines (EU JCA implementation knowledge preferred).
  • Strong communication skills with experience presenting HEOR research to payers or population health decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor team members and foster professional growth within HEOR teams.

 

 

Expected Pay Range: $210,000/year to $240,000/year + benefits, annual bonus & equity (bonus and equity is variable and dependent on company and individual performance).  *Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
