Co-op Proteomics



The areas of responsibilities will include


  • Primary responsibility for all aspects of mammalian cell culture, including media and buffer preparation, culture initiation, propagation, and cryopreservation of cells
  • Perform cell culture of multiple mammalian cell lines including both adherent and suspension cell culture lines.
  • Transient expression of proteins in different cell lines using multiple different transfection modalities
  • Production of stable cell lines using transfection or transduction methods
  • Analysis of protein expression using different methods, including western blot, flow cytometry, enzymatic digestion and mass spectrometry
  • Analysis and presentation of results to larger scientific groups
  • Work productively in a team environment and independently to deliver against timelines
  • Keep very well documented electronic lab notebook




  • B.S., B.A., or M.S. degree in biology or relevant field
  • Strong background in immunology, cell biology, biochemistry and/or biotechnology.
  • Demonstrated mastery of mammalian cell culture techniques, including cultivating adherent and suspension-adapted cell lines, transient and stable transfection, and viral infection.
  • Strong analytical expression methods, including western blotting and flow cytometry.
  • General molecular biology techniques, including bacterial culture and plasmid preparation.
  • Ability to work and communicate in a large cross-functional team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain inventories of equipment, supplies, and related research materials.
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Independent, flexible, self-motivated.
