Co-op, Molecular Immunology

 

Position Summary

Molecular Immunology team is looking for a highly motivated individual performing molecular and cellular biology-based assays to help support our cell therapy platform. In this role, the Co-Op will have the opportunity to support the optimization of in-house mRNA synthesis processes as well as the investigation of new mRNA delivery modalities


Responsibilities/Job duties

  • Plasmid cloning, PCR and DNA isolations from bacterial cell cultures
  • in-vitro mRNA production maintaining sterile conditions
  • Quality control assays including sanger sequencing, gel electrophoresis & endotoxin
  • Maintenance of mammalian cell culture
  • Deliver of mRNA into cells and analyze samples using multi-color flow cytometry
  • Tracking and compiling results in an electronic notebook
  • Present results to other scientific teams

 

Requirements/Preferences

  • Completed biology coursework, with a focus or interest in Molecular and Cell biology, Biochemistry, or Immunology
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Experience or knowledge of safe lab practices and the handling of biological material/aseptic technique
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques (Gene cloning, qPCR, etc.) is preferred, but not required
