Associate Director Procurement Research and Development

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Reporting to the Director, US Procurement Lead, this complex role will join the Global Procurement organization, focusing on supporting US-based stakeholders and their procurement needs within assigned areas. 

  • This position will work with business stakeholders to solicit requirements, define best approach and sourcing model, and execute requirements in support of business needs. 

  • This position may lead the development and execution of regional category management strategies and/or collaborate with Global Category Management colleagues to support the implementation of global strategies within the region.

  • The position will support the development of US-based Procurement capabilities, presence, and processes, aligned to global functional expectations and requirements and in collaboration with US Legal and US Finance colleagues to improve end-to-end user experience.

  • The role will also support training, communication and change management efforts with US stakeholders.

  • This position will perform tracking and reporting of key Procurement performance metrics.

 

Requirements:  

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 8 plus years Sourcing  and Procurement experience with a progressing career path and broad category expertise

  • Solid understanding of sourcing and procurement processes and best practices

  • Strong desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving procedures and a desire to build functional capabilities.

  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally with related business functions, both domestically and internationally

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and in cases of uncertainty.

  • Position will require travel, both domestic and international

Preferred requirements: 

 

  • Biopharmaceutical Procurement experience preferred.

  • MBA preferred.

  • Experience with Coupa Sourcing and Coupa P2P (or similar tools) preferred.  SAP experience a plus.
