Associate Director Central Lab Vendor Management 

 

Associate Director* Central Lab Vendor Management

In this role you will take responsibility for the vendor management and oversight activities for our strategic/preferred partner for Central Lab and Specialty Lab services. Responsibility for other vendors in a regulated environment as well as driving for continuous improvement of our business processes will also be part of the role.

 

Your main responsibilities are 

  • Active engagement and strong relationship management with our strategic/preferred Central & Specialty Lab vendor to ensure effective vendor oversight for the outsourced portfolio of Central/Specialty lab services.
  • Lead vendor related performance management incl. KPI tracking/documentation and related improvement initiatives to ensure compliance, quality and contribution in the timely delivery of trial milestones.
  • Define strategies and ideas to develop, improve and strengthen collaboration through data and digital focused initiatives.
  • Actively drive issue management and mitigation processes and ensure effective vendor governance incl. preparation, conduct and follow-up of governance meetings.
  • Monitor and maintain vendor management documentation, SLAs and manuals and initiate necessary updates, enhancements and corrective actions.
  • Strive for continuous process improvement ideas and their implementation to support the functional growth of the vendor management team.
  • Close collaboration with business stakeholders such as Clinical Procurement, Clinical Operations, Quality Assurance as well as other enabling functions such as Legal and Finance

 

What you have to offer 

  • University degree in a related field and several years of relevant professional experience (> 8 years)
  • Profound knowledge in Central Lab vendor management, clinical outsourcing with focus Central Lab category or previous working experience at a Central Lab.
  • Comprehension of clinical trial processes, supplier relationship management in complex study programs and latest developments in CRO and Central Lab industry as a whole
  • Excellent skills to negotiate and influence
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors, key stakeholders and external partners
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer-focus with good experience in national and international stakeholder management
  • Ability to engage and lead in a matrix environment
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art legal requirements in vendor management and oversight
  • Fluency in spoken and written English; German advantageous
