As Director Global Value & Access - Oncology Early Assets and Business Development you will lead BioNTech`s global market access strategies for all our oncology early assets before they enter registrational phase trials. In this role you will also serve as the global market access strategy lead in our business development (BD) activities. 
The position will be responsible for indication / tumor specific early market access assessments and for eliciting the holistic value of our transformational innovations (understanding patient and health care system unmet need and clinical and patient holistic value) with robust early evidence generation & access strategies as well as informing policy strategies. Ensuring awareness of the holistic value of our innovations across all platforms and functions internally as well as with partners externally are key to this function. 

 

Your key responsibilities are:

 

  • Develop and lead BioNTech`s early oncology asset value & access strategies across all tumors and products before entering in registrational phase trials
  • Shape and influence our early oncology development strategies and BD activities; provide access, policy and pricing insights to our BD and alliance teams, our early clinical development teams and our corporate strategy team to ensure a holistic patient centric access approach is taken from the start. Review business development opportunities from an access, pricing and policy perspective
  • Work in close partnership with other members of the global value, access, pricing and policy team (GVAPP) as well as with the cross-functional core team (specifically early commercial strategy, Medical / HEOR, clinical development and regulatory) in the development of early payer value propositions that reflect the holistic value of our innovations and enable early evidence and stakeholder engagement planning
  • Conduct rapid market access assessments for BD opportunities and early oncology indications 
  • Educate internal stakeholders, business leaders and affiliates on existing or future access and reimbursement risks and opportunities for our oncology early assets in an ever-changing healthcare system environment. Seek broad input and feedback to inform early oncology portfolio strategies and priorities.
  • Leverage knowledge of the external policy and decision maker environment, enabling more efficient evidence development and /or optimizing demonstration of differentiation for our early oncology portfolio
  • Inform ideas and options through effective engagement with external individuals and bodies of our healthcare systems (e.g. HTA agencies, advocacy organizations, think tanks, academics, policy forums) and build awareness of for our oncology early assets and the value and potential future challenges posed to healthcare systems through our transformative innovations

 

What you have to offer: 

 

  • Minimum 10+ years of experience working in global market access and pricing in pharmaceutical / biotech companies and consultancy
  • Bachelors’ degree (required) and post-graduate (preferred) in relevant discipline including medicine, pharmacy, life sciences, (health) economics, biotechnology,  epidemiology or MBA
  • Experience in developing early (optimally pre-phase I) product strategies and collaborating with business development and alliance teams as well as with research and early clinical development teams
  • Proven track record in shaping early development and BD plans by influencing early development teams and BD teams to adapt plans according to access, pricing and policy considerations 
  • Deep knowledge of clinical development (preferred oncology) and of key global health care systems. Understanding of the payer mindset and regulatory and reimbursement requirements
  • Experience working as global access lead in a matrix environment and in cross-functional teams
