Vice President, US Medical Affairs
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President and Head of US Medical Affairs to lead our medical affairs team. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing the US medical strategy, ensuring alignment with global objectives, and supporting the commercialization of our oncology portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of oncology, strong leadership skills, and a track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional teams.
What you have to offer:
- Accountable for the leadership, development, and execution of the Medical Affairs Strategy Design, the structure and assess the needed capabilities for building a Medical Affairs team
- Lead and manage the US medical affairs team, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Provide medical and scientific leadership to support the development and commercialization of oncology products.
- Develop and implement the US medical affairs strategy in alignment with global objectives.
- Develop and lead Key Opinion Leader outreach by establishing and maintaining strong relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, and medical societies in the field of oncology, particularly solid tumor
- Oversee the development and execution of medical education programs, advisory boards, and scientific symposia.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with global medical affairs, clinical development, regulatory affairs, and commercial teams to support product launches and lifecycle management.
- Drive the generation and dissemination of scientific data through publications, presentations, and other communication channels.
- Monitor and analyze emerging trends in oncology to inform strategic decision-making.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree, graduate degree in health sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD)
- Minimum of 15 years of experience working in the US biotech/pharmaceutical industry in medical affairs with at least 6 plus years in leadership roles
- Proven leadership experience with a track record of managing and developing high-performing teams
- Prior interactions with public health agencies, medical and scientific societies
- Strong understanding of oncology landscape, including clinical trial design, regulatory requirements, and market dynamics
- Experience with publication planning and lifecycle management
- Proven ability to plan and execute medical strategies and excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive results in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and project management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with investigators, consultants, vendors, and team members across functions
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant launch experience preferred
- Experience with targeted oncology product experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in a smaller, rapidly growing, company.
