Director, Global Product Strategy
About the role:
We are seeking a strategic, science-driven leader to join our Global Product Strategy team. In this pivotal role, you will focus on new product planning and early commercial strategy, partnering closely with R&D, clinical, medical, and regulatory teams to shape development decisions and prepare for successful product launches. With BioNTech's growing global commercial presence in both the US and Germany, this position offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our mission of advancing oncology treatments.
Your expertise in oncology market insights and launch planning will help position early assets for success in a competitive global environment. By adopting an external/patient-focused approach, you will collaborate with oncology clinicians to understand their patients’ needs while optimizing commercial performance across major markets in the US, EU, and Asia. This role is based on the Eastern Coast of the US.
Your contribution:
• Drive successful commercialization strategies with strong knowledge and experience in Oncology, including new product development or launches
• Partner effectively with R&D teams to shape programs that meet patient and clinician needs
• Develop comprehensive marketing strategies encompassing product branding, positioning, and scientific messaging to maximize market penetration
• Leverage insights into oncology healthcare customers—providers, key opinion leaders, patients, and market access stakeholders—to inform go-to-market approaches that drive customer behavior change
• Monitor and analyze market trends to incorporate insights into clinical development and commercialization plans
• Ensure global brand positioning and messaging aligns with product differentiation goals while supporting medical and market access strategy execution
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Insights & Analytics, R&D, regulatory affairs, sales, finance, and Medical Affairs teams to develop strategic plans
• Manage budget requirements effectively while tracking expenditures
• Oversee vendor partnerships for cost-effective execution of key activities
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree with 8 plus years of experience in pharmaceutical or biotech industries with increasing responsibilities
• Proven track record in country/affiliate commercial/marketing roles at regional or international levels
• Deep understanding of the US Oncology landscape and stakeholder needs
• Strong analytical skills paired with excellent organizational capabilities
• Exceptional collaboration skills with experience working within biotech or fast-paced oncology-focused companies
Preferred qualifications:
MBA or PhD advantageous along with previous launch experience
US based candidates expected Pay Range: $168,100 - $268,700/year + benefits, annual bonus & equity (bonus and equity is variable and dependent on company and individual performance). *Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
